Less than one month to go until the Structural Timber Awards
The Structural Timber Awards are fast approaching. Taking place on Tuesday 06 October 2015 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham, the inaugural Awards will showcase innovative solutions and ground-breaking developments from across the UK timber industry. Significantly, the Confederation of Timber Industries has supported and promoted the event by sponsoring the Product Innovation award.
Presented at a prestigious evening ceremony on the opening night of UK Construction Week, the ST Awards are set to be one of the most important occasions in the timber calendar. Attracting 500 national business leaders, high profile decision makers and key figures from the construction industry, the event will provide the perfect platform for targeting the timber sector, offering the ideal opportunity to maximise exposure and penetrate this economically important market.
Focusing on UK based projects using timber technology as the core structural component, the Awards include finalists from both public and private organisations. The finalists will be battling it out across 14 categories including the Pioneer Award, Product Innovation and the highly competitive, Project of the Year. The Structural Timber Awards will celebrate some of the most cutting-edge projects, inspirational people and ground-breaking products. Of the 160 entries to the Awards, only 35% were successful in being shortlisted - clearly demonstrating the breadth of innovation within this progressive sector.
“I am extremely proud to chair the panel of respected judges of the inaugural Structural Timber Awards. The standard of entries has been outstanding and it was a hard task selecting the finalists. The depth of expertise across all categories was impressive and the exceptional number of entries clearly demonstrates the upturn in the industry. With a strong list of contenders vying for top honours – this event is not to be missed!”, underlined Andrew Carpenter, Chair of the judging panel and CEO of the STA.
