Third episode of 'Timber Talks' released: Iain McIlwee talks through 'Skills Shortages and Education'

Tune in to the third episode of the ‘Timber Talks’ podcast series with Iain McIlwee, CTI Director and CEO of British Woodworking Federation (BWF).

This week, Iain joins CTI fellow director and podcasts presenter Andrew Carpenter to discuss a hot topic for the entire Timber Industry, ‘Skills shortages and Education.’

On top of that, Iain underlines the necessity for the Timber Sector to embrace the ‘Digitalisation’ era and rethink product design and manufacturing in order to attract young people and move towards a truly sustainable production model.

“Massive opportunities are available throughout the entire Timber supply chain,” says Iain. “Timber is an incredible product and we want to attract the best people – in forests management, manufacturing, design, engineering, research but also Marketing and sales – to promote its potential to the wide public.”

'Timber Talks' series gives users the opportunity to hear the movers and shakers within the Timber Industry discussing the latest news, trends and policies, as well as answering the hot questions of the moment. It's also possible to suggest new topics and raise questions for the speakers by sending an email to [email protected].

Check the CTI media library for the complete list of episodes.
