BMF Timber Forum 2016 | 10 May 2016 | Woking
The Forum programme will cover a wide range of topics concerning timber trade and distribution as well as matters arising and key points from the last meeting held on 1 December 2015 in Coventry.
A preliminary agenda for the meeting includes: - 09.30 Coffee; - 10.00 BMF Timber Forum inc tour of WWF facility; - 13.00 Networking lunch; - 14.00 Close of event.
The decision to hold the Timber Forum 2016 at the WWF visitor centre - the Living Planet building - intends to highlight the collaboration between the environmental ONG and the BMF to promote responsible forest trade throughout the merchant supply chain.
In February 2016, the BMF joined with the WWF’s Global Forest and Trade Network in the UK (GFTN-UK) pledging to work together to develop better industry practices and encourage a commitment to sustainability in the merchant sector.
GFTN-UK will share its expertise and knowledge with BMF members, helping them to exercise due diligence on their supply chains for forest goods. The conservation organisation provides a framework that enables companies to identify and move away from materials coming from unknown or unacceptable sources, towards products from credibly certified forests or recycled sources.
The Timber Forum 2016 is free of charge, and restricted to a maximum of 2 people per organisation.
