The Adriatic Wood Days (AWD) 2016 will be held in Dubrovnik (Sheraton Hotel, Dubrovnik, Srebreno) from 2nd to 5th October 2016.
AWD is the largest and most comprehensive sectoral event in Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean, and the participants will adopt conclusions and propose recommendations to decision-makers of sectoral policies at the regional, European and global level.
Adriatic Wood Days (AWD) comprises four thematically related and yet programmatically separate international conferences with main thematic emphasis on European Model of Cascading Use of Wood and Influence on the Future of the Sector:
- Hotel Interiors Furnishing and Product Design
- Greater Use of Wood in Construction
- Timber Trade and Wood Products Marketing
- Investment Profitability in Pellet Production and Cogeneration
A joint plenary lectures will also take place, which will link the conferences and discuss the most current topics in the sector, especially the European model of cascading use of wood recently presented by the European Commission. Main topics include certification, design, sustainable forest management, building competency and development centres, encouraging investments in wood processing, achieving low-carbon impacts and the development of rural and mountainous areas.
